Police have launched a probe after a man was found injured in Ayr this afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the town's Campbell Court in the town.
Eyewitnesses reported a major response on the ground following the incident.
Police have now confirmed that a 57 year-old man was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth Hospital after sustaining injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3pm on Tuesday we were called to a report of an injured man in the Campbell Court area of Ayr.
"Emergency services attended and a 57-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
