Emergency services were called to a Clifton pub over the weekend after a man was allegedly found collapsed in a pool of blood at the bottom of some steps.
South Western Ambulance Service was unable to confirm the individual's gender due to patient privacy and confidentiality. However, an eyewitness told Bristol Live a man was discovered laying at the bottom of a flight of stairs in a pool of blood - inside The Quadrant pub near Regent Street in Clifton, at around 8 pm on Saturday night (December 3).
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 21.50 hrs on Saturday 3 December to an incident in Clifton. We sent two land ambulances, a hazardous area response team, a critical care car and an operations officer. We conveyed one patient to Southmead Hospital.”

Adding: “As part of the NHS, and for reasons of patient privacy and confidentiality, we can’t confirm further details of patients.”
Avon and Somerset Police have also confirmed a man was being treated on Regent Street by the ambulance service and raised concerns about he came to be injured. However, when officers attended the scene and reviewed CCTV, they were "satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances" and resumed patrols.
Bristol Live have also approached The Quantrant for comments.
