Injured Liverpool ace Andy Robertson set to miss Ireland game

Andy Robertson has been ruled out of Scotland’s Nations League clash with Ireland on Saturday week.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp today revealed that the left-back is struggling with the knee injury he shipped in last week’s Champions League defeat to Napoli.

Robertson played the full game but Klopp has ruled him out of tomorrow’s European clash with Ajax.

And Klopp reckons his defender will be sidelined until ‘at least’ the international break.

"Robbo now is not 100%. [He felt something] very late, 93rd or whatever minute - actually he felt it the next day only," said Klopp today.

"He is out for at least, I would say, after the international break."

Robertson captained Scotland in their 3-0 defeat to Ireland at Aviva Stadium in June.

Stephen Kenny will name his Ireland squad on Thursday ahead of the Nations League double-header with the Scots and Armenia.

Adam Idah was ruled out last week after Norwich City revealed he had further surgery on a knee issue.
