George Grierson is hoping players with a point to prove can give Irvine Meadow the edge against Pollok on tomorrow.
Medda head for Newlandsfield looking to make it three wins on the spin in the WoSFL Premier Division.
But they’ll face a ‘Lok side brimming with confidence after knocking League Two outfit Annan Athletic out of the Scottish Cup.
Grierson reckons all the ingredients are there for a classic encounter - especially as he has a trio of former ‘Lok aces in his ranks hungry to put one over their old side.
He said: “Both teams are heading in the right direction just now.
“I watched Pollok against Annan and they were exceptional for the first 70 minutes.
“But we’re going well too just now and we’ve got a few players who will maybe feel they have a point to prove on Saturday.
“Guys like Callum Graham, Bryan Wharton and Paul Byrne had spells at Pollok so it adds a bit of spice to things.
“You’ve got to think Pollok will come into the game flying with confidence.
“Their players will be playing for places against Ayr United in the next round of the cup so they’ll be right up for it.
“For us, it’s about trying to get points that keep us heading in the right direction up the table.”
It's doubtful Grierson will be in the dugout on Saturday after dislocating his replacement hip in a fall at home at the weekend.
He went under the knife on Monday and admits he's still in a fair bit of discomfort.
