Preliminary plans are being drawn up for the construction of more than 70 homes on an unused plot of land in Kilbarchan.
Cala Homes (West) wants to build a mix of three, four and five-bedroom properties, and affordable units at a site off Barrhill Crescent.
The developer, which submitted a proposal of application notice to Renfrewshire Council last month, is inviting residents to a community consultation event scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 14.
The session will be held at Kilbarchan Parish Church between 3.30pm and 8pm, with members of the public encouraged to attend and provide feedback on the proposals to build homes in the village.
The land in question, which sits next to Barrhill Crescent in the south-east of the village, has been allocated for housing as part of the local development plan.
The proposed development includes approximately 70 three, four and five-bedroom homes, as well as affordable housing, with “ample greenspace” woven into the masterplan.
Graham McNeil, land director at Cala Homes (West) said responses gathered at the event would “help shape” the plans.
He said: “We are in the very early stages of developing concepts and designs for the site in Kilbarchan and look forward to sharing initial proposals with the local community at the upcoming event.
“We plan to work closely with the local community, neighbours and stakeholders, including Kilbarchan Community Council, as we progress and refine initial designs.
“Feedback from the event will help shape this.”
A second stage consultation is planned this August with more information about this expected to be made available closer to the date.
Cala said it is “committed to providing quality, sustainable homes” and has identified this site as an “ideal opportunity” to deliver much-needed” housing for the community.
The developer added that any further enquiries can be made to kilbarchanenquiries@cala.co.uk
