A TikTok star and actor was gunned down and killed in Mexico in front of his horrified co-star during a press conference for his new show.
Kevin Kaletry, known as an influencer on social media, was repeatedly shot in the head by a gunman riding pillion on a motorbike, while promoting his new theatre show La Escuelita.
Kaletry, 26, from Puerto Rico, was well known in Mexico for his comedy clips, but his life was tragically cut short in the plush Condesa neighbourhood in the country’s capital on May 4.
Footage of the shooting shows co-star Wendy Guevara, a transgender singer and YouTube influencer, being interviewed as the killers approached on a motorbike and fired a hail of bullets at Kaletry.
Paramedics immediately arrived at the scene and confirmed Kaltery's death.
One of the attackers was reportedly arrested about an hour later, 3km away, after police tracked him using the city's CCTV system.
Of the shocking incident, Guevara said: “I was in an interview and I turned around and saw that someone fell over there and the truth is I’m in shock, afraid.
“I didn't really know the boy very well. Poor little boy.
“I am very nervous, I have never experienced anything like this."
Kaletry had participated in a reality TV show called Amor o Fama in 2022, had thousands of followers on TikTok and Instagram, where he would talk about his passion for motorcycles and upload community videos.
A police investigation is ongoing, while they try and figure out what the motive was for the killing.
