Influencer Andrew Tate 'could have a tumour on one of his lungs'

Social media personality Andrew Tate has reportedly claimed that a ‘dark spot on his lung’ is ‘most likely a tumour’.

The 36-year-old is currently being held in a Romanian prison on suspicion of organised crime and human trafficking. And he has been receiving medical treatment, although he has admitted that he remains “strong” and “in good shape”, the Daily Mail reports.

Medical documents have revealed that Tate has a lesion of his upper right lung, that could be a sign of a carcinoid tumour – a rare type of slow-growing cancer. It has been revealed to be a “serious health condition” following a medical consultation with doctors in Dubai last year.

Tate, who was was arrested in December, confirmed the rumours via his spokesman, who told the Daily Mail: “He has a dark spot on his lung, most likely a tumour. No official diagnosis has been confirmed and he is in good shape and is staying strong.

“His doctors have requested that he returns to Dubai for further testing. Andrew has not demanded this.”

Officials have said Tate will receive any medical treatment in Romania. He was supposed to have undergone emergency bronchoscopy and biopsy of the lesion in his lung, but he and his bother Tristan were taken into custody late last year.

In a further blow to Tate and his sibling, their latest bid to be released from jail has been denied, with a Romanian court upholding a third extension for their detention.

They will now be held for another 30 days until at least March 29, according to Ramona Bolla, a spokesman for Romanian anti-organised crime agency DIICOT. He revealed that two women also held in the case will be placed under house arrest rather than in full detention. None of the four has been formally charged yet.

Tate has resided in Romania since 2017 and has previously been banned from various social media platforms for expressing misogynistic views and hate speech. Since their arrest, he and his brother have allegedly demanded a PlayStation and a hair stylist, but officials have denied their requests.

Tate was said to have complained that he could not shave his head as disposable razors are not allowed in the prison and demanded a hairstylist be brought in, which was also rejected.
