Manchester City fans are unfurling all the superlatives for Erling Haaland after the phenomenon scored the opening goal against Aston Villa.
The striker latched onto a pinpoint cross from Kevin De Bruyne to direct home his tenth goal of the season after five Premier League games. It means he’s scored in every league game this season apart from the 4-0 win over Bournemouth.
On Friday, Jamie Carragher, who was co-commentating on the game for Sky Sports, said Haaland could become the best player the Premier League has ever seen. “I think we know we’ve got a great player in the league,” he said.

“But I think we’ve got something really, really special that, when he has finished his time at Man City or in the Premier League, we’ll be talking alongside Thierry Henry.
“I think this lad could end up being the best player we’ve seen in the Premier League, I really do believe that, he’s that special. He’s made a brilliant start.”
And it seems City fans on Twitter agree, hailing Haaland’s incredible goalscoring abilities.
