Rangers have sent their best wishes following an Indonesian football tragedy that has left hundreds dead and many more injured.
Authorities in the Javanese region of Malang have told media in that area that a staggering loss of life has happened as the game between Arema and Persebaya Surabaya broke into deadly violence at the Kanjuruhan Stadium. Chaos broke out after Persebaya won 3-2 and waves of Arema fans reportedly stormed onto the turf at the final whistle.
It is already one of the worst football disasters in history with local reports claiming that another 180 people are injured with 'many in a deterioriating condition.' Reports abroad state the stampede occurred when local police authorities fired tear gas into the crowd upon entering the pitch area. The Ibrox have sent their condolences to those impacted, saying: "Rangers FC are deeply saddened to learn of the events at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Indonesia today.

"We send our sincere condolences to the victims, their families and all those who have been affected."
Indonesia's chief security minister, Mahfud MD, has gone to social media to allege that the 38,000 capacity stadium was filled well beyond its capacity, with 42,000 tickets claimed to have been issued.
The league has been suspended amid an investigation into events, and FIFA will also launch a probe into the tragic scenes.
