Following a Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos that featured a second-half collapse on the offensive side of the football, how far did the Indianapolis Colts fall in this week’s power rankings?
The Colts playoff hopes are still alive–although certainly not in great shape–which made this past Sunday’s game against the Broncos essentially a must-win for them.
While the defense had arguably its best performance of the season, given the magnitude of the game, and did everything they could to hang on, there was no overcoming the issues on the offensive side of the football.
There were fumbles and points erased from the scoreboard by two of the Colts’ best players, Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman. Anthony Richardson struggled mightily, the offensive line was penalized and allowed a lot of pressure, while a questionable play-call by Shane Steichen resulted in a defensive touchdown for the Broncos.
From the coaching to the play calls to the on-field execution, the Colts fell apart right before our eyes in what was one of the worst performances by EPA in recent history.
Entering Week 16, the Colts still have a path to the playoffs, which requires quite a bit of help from the Los Angeles Chargers. However, step No. 1 for Indianapolis, is they have to play a lot better.
Heading into this week’s game against Tennessee, here is where the Colts land in the latest power ranking roundup:
