Indianapolis Colts make several practice squad moves heading into Week 13

The Indianapolis Colts made a number of practice squad moves on Monday, following their Week 12 loss to the Detroit Lions.

The team announced that they’ve brought back cornerback Tre Flowers and added defensive end Durell Nchami.

In order to make room for those two additions, the Colts released offensive tackle Sebastian Gutierrez and defensive end Derek Rivers.

Flowers was released from the practice squad just last week to make room for Mark Glowinski who was added. Flowers is an experienced player, appearing in 94 regular season games.

Most recently, Flowers played 200 snaps in 2023 with Atlanta, allowing 10 receptions on 14 targets at 17.7 yards per catch with a pass breakup.

Nchami went undrafted out of Maryland in 2023. He spent some time on the Denver practice squad late last season and was apart of Broncos training camp this past summer as well.

Nchami played 33 collegiate games, which included 14 starts, and recorded 17.5 tackles for loss with nine sacks and four forced fumbles.

Rivers, meanwhile, was just added back to the Colts practice squad last week after Titus Leo was claimed by New England. Rivers spent training camp with Indianapolis and most of the regular season on the practice squad. He is a former third-round pick in 2017, playing 336 career defensive snaps.

Lastly, Gutierrez was signed to the practice squad on October 28th. He went undrafted in 2022 out of Minot State, and has spent time with Cleveland San Francisco, Las Vegas, New England, and Kansas City, appearing in one regular season game in 2022 on special teams.

Almost on a weekly basis this season, GM Chris Ballard has churned the back end of the Indianapolis practice squad this season.
