An Indiana teenager, identified as Trinity Shockley but prefers to be called Jamie, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and two terrorism-related charges in connection with an alleged school shooting plot. Shockley, 18, was reportedly inspired by the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting that occurred on February 14, 2018.
Authorities received information from the FBI indicating that Shockley was potentially planning a school shooting at Mooresville High School. Shockley allegedly planned to carry out the attack on February 14, exactly seven years after the Parkland shooting.
Shockley is currently held in the Morgan County Jail without bond. The investigation revealed that Shockley had expressed an obsession with and sexual attraction to Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland shooter, and had made plans for the shooting on a messaging app.
During a search of Shockley's home, police found a collage with photos of known mass shooters, including Cruz, Dylan Roof, and Randy Stair. Additionally, notebooks with disturbing content, AR-15 magazines, bullets, and a soft armor vest were discovered.

Shockley claimed to have been joking about the shooting plans and denied having access to a gun. The teenager had been struggling with mental health issues, suicidal thoughts, and anger problems following a traumatic accident with a drunk driver. Shockley also experienced guilt after the driver's suicide.
The Mooresville Police Department had previously interacted with Shockley, as evidenced by a Facebook post thanking officers for their response to the accident involving the teenager and the drunk driver.
As the case unfolds, authorities are working to ensure the safety of the community and provide appropriate support for Shockley's mental health challenges.
