India's Second-Quarter GDP Growth Slips To 6.3 Per Cent

Representational Image

New Delhi: India's economic growth slowed to 6.3 per cent in the July-Sep quarter of 2022-23 compared to 13.5 per cent in the preceeding three months mainly on account of contraction in output of manufacturing and mining sectors, according to government data released on Wednesday.

Slower GDP expansion nothwithstanding, India continues to remain the fastest-growing major economy ahead of China which registered an economic growth of 3.9 per cent in July-September 2022.

The Indian economy grew by 8.4 per cent in July-September quarter of last fiscal year. (PTI)
