India’s national cricket team has returned home as T20 World Cup champions after facing a temporary delay in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, as reported by the Indian state broadcaster.

The team was stranded in Barbados after the Grantley Adams International Airport suspended operations on Sunday in light of the hurricane. They finally made their way back home on a special charter flight named “AIC24WC,” which stands for Air India Champions 24 World Cup, as confirmed by a flight tracker.

Upon their arrival in New Delhi on Thursday morning, the team was warmly welcomed by a crowd of enthusiastic fans. The players are set to participate in a breakfast event hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day, followed by a celebratory parade in Mumbai, as per reliable sources.

India clinched the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa with a seven-run victory in the final match held in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. This victory marks India’s first T20 World Cup win in 13 years, showcasing their exceptional performance and determination on the cricket field.
