A NEW Scottish independence cafe is set to meet in Prestwick tomorrow.
The "Indy cafe" was suggested by new Yes Prestwick member Kirste Johnston, and will open on Thursday at 2pm at the 65 Club in Prestwick.
Organiser Peter Laing told The National there had been four new members in past month, all joining through the IndyApp.
Any independence supporter can download the app and it locates their nearest Yes group.
Laing said: "You can’t beat face-to-face contact, and the best ideas and inspiration often come from these meetings, good chat, coffee and planning the future we all want. The social side of campaigning is often overlooked.
"We hope that tomorrow is a success with good turnout and ideally a weekly event would be good! First 18 get a free muffin!"
The hall capacity is 60 so members hope to have a full house.
The ribbon-cutting opening is being filmed by the Scotland Channel and added to a recent litter-picking session activists took part in.
Due to its success, the group has also started a GoFundMe to pay for 2500 pre-printed Yes litter bags to scale up and respond to demand from other Yes groups who want to host litter-picking sessions.
