Perth: India thrashed Australia by 295 runs in the first Test of the five-match series in Perth on Monday.
Chasing a mammoth target of 534 runs, the hosts were bowled out for 238 runs on the fourth day of play.

Australian batting
For Australia, Travis Head (89) and Mitchell Marsh (47) showed some resistance against the fiery Indian bowling. Alex Carey, who was the last man to be dismissed, also scored 36 runs. Apart from these three batters, no other Australian player could reach the 20-run mark.

For the visitors, skipper Jasprit Bumrah and pacer Mohammad Siraj took 3 wickets each in the second innings of Australia. Spinner Washington Sundar also took 2 wickets while Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy got one wicket each.
