'Incredibly unprofessional' - Celtic hero Lennon blasts treatment after Rapid sacking

Neil Lennon has broken his silence on his sacking from Rapid Bucharest and believes he was treated 'incredibly unprofessionally.'

The former Celtic and Hibs boss was in charge of Rapid for just six games, where he drew five of them and lost the other before the axe was swung a month ago.

And Lennon, who has been linked with a return to Scottish football at managerless St Johnstone, insisted he is desperate for a quickfire return to management.

Speaking to Romanian outlet, Sport pe Surse, Lennon said: "I will speak fully when the time is right.

"But we were treated very badly by certain people in the Romanian media. You know who I'm talking about.

"What happened was incredibly unprofessional.

"I want to return to coaching as soon as possible. No, I don't need a break."

Lennon has also managed Omonia Nicosia abroad and was in charge in Romania for just three months before his surprise dismissal.
