A local fisherman has captured an incredible video showing a huge cuttlefish captured in East Lothian shooting a stream of black ink into the sea before swimming away.
Lawrie McFarlane at Bellhaven Lobster was out reeling in lobsters on Wednesday, May 10 when he spotted the octupus-like creature with its many tentacles.
The beast looks almost alien-like with its creepy glaring eye and huge body that makes the creature look like a Sensorite from sci-fi show Dr Who.

Despite the odd appearance, the sea creatures are quite common on the East Coast but Lawrie says they are never usually as big as this beast.
They are not actually fish, but shallow-water cephalopods that live in sandy or muddy habitats in coastal and marine areas.
In the fascinating clip, the cuttlefish is seen in all its glory wriggling the five visible tentacles before being dropped into the sea and shooting a black string of ink before shooting off through the water.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live Lawrie said: "We see them every now and then but never that size. We caught it just to have a closer look then released the cuttlefish again."
Cuttlefish are chunky squid-like creatures with well-developed heads, large eyes and mouths with beak-like jaws. They have a fin that runs around their body, eight 'arms' with suckers plus two tentacles around the mouth.

The common cuttlefish is generally found in the eastern North Atlantic, throughout the English Channel. Records exist along the east coast of Britain, the west and north coast of Scotland, including the Hebrides, but these are not as common as in the English Channel.
