A video has captured the moment a meteor was spotted soaring across the night sky.
The Met Office confirmed the meteor was reported at around 8pm last night and urged people to share footage of it. People quickly took to social media to share footage of the incredibly rare event, with some even capturing it on their video doorbells or home CCTV systems.
One skygazer in Bristol managed to capture the meteor on a Nest CCTV camera at around 8.01pm as it travelled east. The woman, from Chippenham, Wilts., said: "I couldn't believe it. I was standing outside waiting for a lift to work when the sky lit up.
