Glastonbury has got off to a blazing start with revellers waking up to soaring temperatures for day one of the world-famous festival.
With the mercury set to reach 28C in Somerset this afternoon, the festival is already seeing a dazzling lineup of sunglasses, skimpies and the occasional dash of nudity.
Around 175,000 people are expected to descend on Worthy Farm over the next three days, for what is expected to be the festival’s hottest year ever.
Temperatures could hit up to 35C on Saturday before a slightly cooler Sunday.
Campers and music lovers have already begun basking in the rays, stretching out on scorched grass, enjoying bikini-clad yoga sessions or stripping off entirely.
Others can be seen holding parasols or wearing “hats” fashioned out of miscellaneous objects to shield themselves from the sweltering sunshine.
The festival is giving away free sun lotion and water to combat the heat, and organisers have said extra shaded areas will be opened if necessary.
The festival is making efforts to become more sustainable, banning plastic water bottles and cutlery around the 900-acre site.
Thousands of people also joined a climate change protest on Thursday afternoon, eventually forming a human sculpture in the shape of an hourglass to symbolise extinction.
The scheduled music acts have now begun taking to the stage, with the full weekend line-up including Tame Impala, The Killers, Billie Eilish, and Janet Jackson.
Pop star Kylie Minogue playing the Sunday afternoon "legend slot" and Stormzy, George Ezra and Lauren Hill will all headline the main stage tonight
