'Inconsiderate' bride opens all her wedding gifts alone - then slams husband over it

One newlywed couple's honeymoon phase is already over as the baffled bride cant work out why her new husband is upset she opened all of the wedding presents.

Thinking one of the gifts were misplaced when they were transferred to her parents house, the new bride decided to go through and open all the gifts to make sure it was still there.

When telling her husband what she'd done, she couldn't work out why he was so upset with her and claims there is now "tension between them".

Taking to Reddit to ask why he would be upset with her, the new bride explains how her husband was "disappointed" she didn't at least ask him if it would be fine to open them.

She explained: "I told my husband after and he was quite disappointed.

"I didn't expect him to be upset by this. He said that he wanted us to open them together or at the very least ask him if it was ok to open them up before hand. He didn't understand why I couldn't wait.

"A few days later I gave him the gifts and he was upset that he didn't get to open up the wedding gift his parents gave to us. There is now tension between us and I'm not sure why."

Wanting to make sure there wasn't a misplaced gift, as the bride's father thought there might be, she went through them all and tore the wrapping off in the process.

"After the ceremony all of the wedding gifts were brought to my parents home," she added.

"Upon discussion with my father he though he misplaced one of the wedding gifts that someone provided to us.

"So I decided to open up all the gifts to look for it. It was my idea entirely."

However, some people have been quick to pull the bride up on her actions, with other users calling her out on her self-centred act.

One Reddit user brutally commented: "Your husband just realised the person he's committed his life to only cares about one thing and it isn't him."

While another said: "You just took away a really lovely part of your new, shared life because you couldn’t wait a hot minute to inventory them all? That really could have waited a few days. Or you could have looked at the cards."

"What a loving considerate wife you’re going to be," another added.
