In a mission statement acquired Tuesday, the incoming Palestinian Prime Minister outlined his vision for a revitalized Palestinian Authority and an independent trust fund to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction. Mohammad Mustafa plans to appoint a technocratic government that can gain the trust of the people and international community. He emphasized the need for wide-ranging reforms, a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, and the reunification of territories.

Mustafa's mission statement did not mention Hamas, the group that currently controls Gaza. He proposed holding presidential and parliamentary elections but did not provide a specific timeline, citing the need to assess the situation on the ground in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

According to Syrian state media, Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple military posts near Damascus, causing material damage but no casualties. Syrian air defenses reportedly intercepted some of the missiles before they reached their intended targets.

Israel has conducted numerous strikes in Syria in recent years, primarily aimed at Iran-linked targets. The country rarely acknowledges these operations. The frequency of strikes has increased in the past five months amid ongoing conflicts in the region.
