Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison looks very different as he addresses return of show

The Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison has said he doesn’t see a revival of the hit E4 show “ever happening” during an appearance on Lorraine.

The 36-year-old actor rose to fame playing goofy Neil Harrison on the comedy, over three seasons and two spin-off films.

Blake looked worlds away from his oddball character during his appearance opposite host Lorraine Kelly, sporting curled longer hair and a grey speckled beard.

After discussing the latest series of ITV ’s Kate and Koji, the 62-year-old TV host turned the conversation to the chances of a comeback for the smash hit Channel 4 sitcom.

She said: “For you Inbetweeners really opened a lot of doors didn’t it? People have such affection for that show and the movies.

“It must have been lovely to be part of something like that, but I feel as though you probably don’t need to do anymore - it’s done. Do you feel that or do you feel there’s more stories to be told?”

Blake replied: “I feel like we’ve been done since 2014, when we did the last film. People just like it, so they want it to do more, but I don’t see that ever happening.”

He then added: “But you never know.”

Lorraine replied: “Sometimes that's quite good that you’ve got that. It’s like you mentioned Fraser - it had a beginning, middle and end and it ended beautifully. We’ve got it there, we can watch reruns of the Inbetweeners.”

This comes after James Buckley disappointed fans of The Inbetweeners by saying he'll “never return to the show”.

The actor, 34, played sex-mad teen Jay Cartwright and fans loved his awkward antics, but James says the character won't be making a comeback.

DJ Chris Moyles asked him earlier this year: “If the people who wrote The Inbetweeners said ‘we’ve got a new script’ - it’s basically what everyone’s up to now - do you want to see it? You’d say yes?”

While James admitted that the role of Jay was “the best job in the world”, he unequivocally replied: "No."

Trying to explain his reasoning James said: “Not because I don't think I would have an amazing time doing it, because I know I would.

"It was the best job in the world, but it might - you know, as I'm getting older - it's looking like it might be the only thing that I do professionally that is universally loved.

“There's not enough money in the world for me to spoil that.”

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
