As the the electoral calendar heats up and candidates continue to try to lure the coveted Latino vote, The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has announced the next stop on its On The Road initiative will take place in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a special guest: First Lady Jill Biden.

The visit, to take place on Tuesday, will be hosted by CHC Chair Nanette Barragán (CA-44) and Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (NY-07) and focus on education and workforce development resources available in the Greater Lehigh Valley.

In a press release published by the CHC, Barragán expressed her excitement around the event:

"Allentown's population is more than 50% Latino, so our Caucus prioritized a trip to engage the city's Latino residents for this CHC on the Road event with First Lady Jill Biden. We will meet with local community members and key stakeholders to let them know about the educational and workforce development resources that the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats in Congress have delivered and made available and accessible to communities throughout America."

The "On the Road" tour is an initiative where federal officials have traveled the country to meet with Hispanic residents and tout legislative accomplishments. Allentown marks the 11th visit the CHC has made.

According to The Morning Call, the visit will mark the fourth time this year that a White House official has visited the Lehigh Valley, one of the most politically mixed regions of the state, with a congressional district that has elected both Democrats and Republicans in the past. President Joe Biden visited the region in January to tout small business growth during his administration, followed by Education Secretary Miguel Cardona in March and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra.

Rep. Susan Wild, who's seeking a fourth time in congress, expressed her honor in welcoming First Lady Jill Biden, a Pennsylvania native, to Allentown:

"I'm honored to welcome First Lady -- and Pennsylvania native! -- Jill Biden to Allentown next week, and look forward to engaging in a productive and meaningful conversation about all the education and workforce opportunities we have to offer."
