IN the lead-up to the 2014 vote on Scottish independence, there were plenty of celebrities who took to the streets to support the Yes campaign.
This week will mark 10 years since Scotland took to the polls to vote on the question of Scottish independence, with the country ultimately deciding to remain as part of the United Kingdom.
Here’s a look back at some of the famous faces who got involved with the campaign.
Alan Cumming
Alan Cumming is well known for his support of Scottish independence and continues to campaign on the issue today.
The Emmy and Olivier-award winning actor backed the Yes campaign in 2014 and previously declared he would return to Scotland to do the same should there be a second referendum.
Martin Compston
Line of Duty star Martin Compston is also a supporter of Scottish independence who helped to campaign in 2014.
SNP leader Alex Salmond and Patrick Harvie, who is now co-leader of the Scottish Greens as well as Cumming.

He has continued to support the movement
Brian Cox
Many people will know Brian Cox for his Golden Globe-winning performance in the hit HBO show Succession.
However, he’s also a strong supporter of Scottish independence and is pictured below giving a speech during the 2014 campaign.
Elaine C Smith
Scottish actress and comedian Elaine C Smith, known for her roles in Rab C. Nesbitt and Two Doors Down, is also a supporter of independence.
