In pictures: Hundreds join bike race down snowy Scottish mountain

HUNDREDS of cyclist have joined a race down a snowy mountain in Scotland.

More than 300 people took part in MacAvalanche, a mass-start mountain bike race through the snow, descending over 900m from the summit of Aonach Mor in the Nevis Range near Fort William on Saturday.

The event is held annually to mark the beginning of mountain bike season at Lochaber snowsports centre.

These amazing pictures from Jane Barlow show how the event unfolded.
