Two new homes are up for sale in Merseyside that are described as being the first of their kind on sale in the area.
The “innovative and unique” properties are believed to be the first zero carbon houses on the open market in Wirral. Both five-bedroom detached homes make up part of the Sandfield Park development, in Heswall.
Each of the properties combine architectural and eco design so that they benefit from thermal performance and minimising CO2 emissions. They’re listed for offers in excess of £870,000, with Bradshaw Farnham and Lea.

According to Rightmove, properties in Heswall had an overall average price of £403,603 over the last year. Most of the sales in Heswall during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £605,926.
Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £291,027, with flats fetching £145,677. Overall, sold prices in Heswall over the last year were 9% up on the previous year and 25% up on the 2017 peak of £323,648.
Similar sized homes, less than 0.1miles away, have sold in the last year for £800,000 on Pipers Lane and £700,000 on Sandfield Park. Those under offer include a £975,000 home on Farr Hall Drive, £1,100,000 home on Telegraph road and a £1,200,000 property on Birchmere.
According to the estate agents, the zero carbon concept homes as well as a range of thoughtful design features that reflect and support the needs of modern living. Both homes have a modern design with features such an open plan kitchen, with an island.
The houses will achieve an EPC A rating, will have annual energy costs anticipated to be in the low hundreds of pounds. The development will also have no mains gas supply and will generate a proportion of its own electricity through the provision of a solar photovoltaic array on the roof.
