Important warning issued to Celtic supporters ahead of Aston Villa tie

Celtic fans have been warned that ALL flags will be checked upon entry to Villa Park on Wednesday night.

Brendan Rodgers' side make the trip south of the border this midweek for their final Champions League league phase tie against Aston Villa.

Supporters are eagerly anticipating watching the Scottish Premiership champions putting their best foot forward against the Premier League side.

Thousands of Hoops fans, with or without tickets, are expected to be in Birmingham come Wednesday afternoon.

But those planning on taking flags and banners with them have been warned they must meet Villa's strict sizing regulations.

The SLO wrote on X: "As per Aston Villa flag policy, flags bigger than 2m x 1m are not permitted at Villa Park, all flags will be checked on entry and must be accompanied with a fire certificate.

"AV have further advised that there is no space to display CSC banners, unfortunately."
