As we turn the calendar to April, there are many important dates during the month to note for the Tennessee Titans.
Of course, the highlight of the month of April is the 2023 NFL draft, which will begin on April 27th with the first round, and culminate on Day 3 on April 29th with the final four rounds.
The Titans own a total of six selections in the upcoming draft, with a pick in each round but the fourth thanks to the Julio Jones trade with the Atlanta Falcons.
But the 2023 NFL draft isn’t the only important date in April. Here’s a look at what else is coming this month.
April 17: First day of offseason program
Tennessee will begin its offseason program in the middle of this month, with players first reporting by April 17. Here’s a look at the entire schedule:
First day: April 17
OTAs: May 22-23, May 25, May 30-31, June 2, June 12-15
Mandatory minicamp: June 6-8
April 19: Last day for teams to examine prospects at club's facility
Per the NFL, this is the last day teams can “time, test, visit, interview, or conduct a physical examination with a draft-eligible player at its club facility.”
April 21: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets
This is important for the Titans because both defensive lineman Teair Tart and center/guard Aaron Brewer are restricted free agents. Tennessee placed second-round tenders on both, but they can still sign offer sheets from other teams until this date.
April 26: Deadline for teams to match or refuse to match offer sheets
The Titans have until this date to make a decision on whether or not to match any offer sheets Tart and/or Brewer have signed with other teams, if they do so at all. The Titans get a second-round pick for each offer sheet they don’t match.
April 27: Deadline for teams to examine prospects at any location
Teams can still take a closer look at draft-eligible players right up until the event, but must do so away from the team’s facility.
April 27: Day 1 of the 2023 NFL draft
The first round will take place on this date. The Titans currently own the No. 11 overall pick.
April 28: Day 2 of the 2023 NFL draft
This day will consist of Rounds 2 and 3. The Titans have one selection in each.
April 29: Day 3 of the 2023 NFL draft
This day will see the final four rounds of picks (Rounds 4-7) made. The Titans have three picks in that span.
