The latest digital technologies help create another dimension of art during "The Gate Immersive Theatre" exhibition on the 1st floor of True Digital Park West, Sukhumvit 101, daily from 8am to 10pm until March 15.
This is the first time True Digital Park has collaborated with South Korea's Topos Studio, which specialises in the development of immersive exhibition systems to bring new and inspiring art experiences to everyone through a virtual world.
The exhibition comprises four works presented in three phases, each lasting for one month. It kicks off with the projection of We Are The Primitives Of A New Era and The Homage To Space Odyssey (2022) until Jan 14.
The first is the work of Italian-American artist Aldo Tambellini, hailed as one of the pioneers of media art. The latter is inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey (2001), the 1968 epic science fiction film by Stanley Kubrick, and is presented with Also Sprach Zarathustra, a symphonic poem by Richard Strauss.
On display from Jan 15 to Feb 14 will be Vortex (2022) which uses anamorphic imaging technology in the form of media art. The work has been created by Wysiwyg Studios, a Korean company specialising in motion graphics and 3D effects.
The last phase of the exhibition will bring The Future Is Fungi (2021) from Feb 15 to March 15. The projection features a desolate forest full of colourful mushrooms as part of a setting where visitors can see the moisture from nature and mycelium, which expands with the sounds.
