Immediate recall issued for bookends sold in TK Maxx over chemical fears

The CPCC has issued an urgent recall for bookends sold at TK Maxx due to health and safety concerns.

TX Maxx has previously sold the Yellow Orpiment Mineral Bookend to customers, typically used to keep books upright. It is understood there are four affected products within the Republic of Ireland.

The product poses a risk to customers due to its chemical content. There is a mineral present within the item that may cause harm if ingested or inhaled, including possible skin irritation.

The product's brand name is Taizhou Art and Home. Its model number is classified as Yellow Orpiment Mineral Bookend.

Customers are advised to return the hazardous product immediately. A full refund will be offered when brought back to a TK Maxx or Homesense Store.

People are asked to wear protective gloves while handling the item due to the safety risk. The product should be contained within a sealed package for its return.
