Illan Meslier anticipates Roy Hodgson lift amid Crystal Palace warning for Leeds United

Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier says Crystal Palace will be a different prospect under Roy Hodgson. The Whites welcome Palace to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, with the Eagles sitting two places and one-point above them in the table.

Javi Gracia 's men have collected 10 points from their last six games, and climbed two points clear of the bottom three with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Leeds can move into 12th place, and create a five-point gap between themselves and the bottom three if they beat Palace.

Meslier anticipates a very different side to the one which found itself struggling for form under Patrick Vieira and insists Leeds must score first if they want to pick up all three points.

“We have to stay focused," Meslier told Leeds United's official website. “We have an important game on Sunday against Crystal Palace, so we want to take another three points at home.

“I think they will be a better team than a few games ago. It is a new manager, a huge manager for them. I think it will be more or less the same game as Nottingham Forest.

“Maybe they will try to score on the counterattack and set-pieces, so we have to focused with the ball and try to score first."
