Ilkeston man banned from owning dogs after dog attacked walker in park

A man ended up in court after his dog attacked a visitor in a park in Ilkeston. Trevor Woolley has been banned from keeping dogs for five years.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty to being the owner of a dog which was dangerously out of control when he appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court. As well as the ban, the defendant, of Canal Street, Ilkeston, was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £300 compensation and £85 costs.

The incident happened in Wash Meadow Park, Ilkeston, on May 17, 2021, reports Derbyshire Live. The following people have also recently been convicted at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

First up is Alex Monsheimer, 30, of St Norbert Drive, Kirk Hallam, who was fined £50 and was ordered to pay £150 compensation, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge for criminal damage. The incident happened in Long Eaton on January 19, 2019.

Habib Shobowale, 28, of Acre Close, Leicester, was jailed for 38 weeks and was ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, and for two counts of criminal damage. All the incidents happened in Railway Terrace, Derby, on March 5.

Richard Hatton, 46, of Kingsbury Road, Mackworth, was fined £160 and was ordered to pay £420 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and was handed a 12-month restraining order for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour. It happened at Morrisons, in Wheatcroft Way, Derby, on April 28, 2021.

Jack Dexter, 33, of Whitmore Road, Chaddesden, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £150 compensation, £85 costs and a £122 victim surcharge for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour. His crime took place in Derby on September 1, 2021.

Adam Bakheet, 29, of Stonesdale Court, Derby, was handed an eight-week community order and was ordered to pay £250 compensation, £300 costs and a £95 victim surcharge for assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage of a police car windscreen. It happened in Derby, on October 23, 2021.

Terri Betteridge, 32, of Cavan Drive, Chaddesden, was fined £50 and was ordered to pay £50 compensation and a £34 victim surcharge for stealing copper piping. He took the piping in Brighton Road, Alvaston, on June 17, 2020.

Fawad Ahmad, 43, of Swinburne Street, Derby, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £100 costs and a £22 victim surcharge for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour. It happened in Harrington Street, Normanton, on October 20, 2021.

Ali Shan, 51, of Stenson Road, Derby, was fined £140 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with eight penalty points for driving without insurance. He was caught in Woodland Road, Stanton, Swadlincote, on October 22, 2020.

Samkelo Buthelezi, 34, of Pineview Garden, Littleover, was fined £40 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 58mph in a 50mph limit. Their car was clocked on the A52 Brian Clough Way, in Derby, on May 15, 2021.

Sorin Petrie, 54, of Wild Street, Derby, was fined £161 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points for speeding at 59mph in a 50mph limit. They were caught on the A52 Brian Clough Way, in Derby, on May 9, 2021.

Kurt Phillips, 29, of Buxton Road, Chaddesden, was fined £172 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for driving with an illegal tyre. He was caught in Stoney Lane, Derby, on May 15, 2021.

Stewart Pritchard, 37, of Cumberland Road, Burton, was fined £66 and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph limit. It happened in London Road, Derby, on May 13, 2021.

Alyxander Jameson Ross, 45, of Osmaston Road, Derby, was fined £480 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £48 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points for driving without insurance. He was caught in Burton Road, Derby, on May 12, 2021.

Linda Simpson, 53, of Yeovil Close, Derby, was fined £761 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £76 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with six penalty points for speeding at 52mph in a 30mh limit. It happened in Main Road, Elvaston, on May 14, 2021.

Cathy Smith, 30, of New Road, Derby, was fined £230 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph limit. She was caught in Duffield Road, Darley Abbey, on June 25, 2021.

Wendy Salloway, 53, of Barnard Drive, Boulton Moor, was fined £312 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with six penalty points for speeding at 51mph in a 30mph limit. It happened in Main Road, Elvaston, on May 6, 2021.

Sarah Taylor-Bye, 36, of Waterlagg Lane, Turnditch, Belper, was fined £123 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 59mph in a 50mph limit. She was caught on the A52 Brian Clough Way, in Derby, on May 12, 2021.

Hayley Ward, 34, of Lansbury Drive, South Normanton, was fined £16 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit. She was clocked in Alfreton Road, Pinxton, on May 7, 2021.

Laura Weightman, 34, of Main Road, Smalley, was fined £66 and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph limit. It happened in Heanor Road, Heanor, on May 13, 2021.
