A designer store had closed its doors after less than a year of business in a new location in a shopping centre. It comes after Henry George Menswear opened a new shop at Unit No.15 in The Albion Centre, in Ilkeston, in November last year.
The menswear retailer had moved into the town's shopping centre after two years of trading in Bath Street. It was nearly twice the size of its previous store, which first opened in 2019, reports Derbyshire Live.
Henry George Menswear also had a branch in Mansfield, in Nottinghamshire, stocking menswear brands including Lyle & Scott, Superdry, and Weekend Offender. But both have now closed for good.

Director Luke Slaney cited a "massive drop in takings over the last four months" as the reason for the closure of The Albion Centre store. He shared further details of the closure with Ilkeston's Independent Shops Facebook group earlier this week.
The post, shared by group admin Joe Cahill, reads: "Most importantly everyone at Henry George is ok. But Luke who financed the business has just entrusted me to announce that due to a massive drop in takings over the last four months they had to take the unavoidable decision to cease trading.
"I’m sure you will join me in thanking Luke for investing in our town. It’s such a shame that although some of you gave them your business there just weren’t enough of you.
"Luke offers his thanks to those who did support the business. We wish Luke, Ashley and all those affected by this decision all the best for the future. A very sad day." Henry George Menswear has been contacted for further comments.
