Here are your Saturday evening Manchester City headlines
Gundogan penalty miss
Ilkay Gundogan admits he twice asked Erling Haaland if he was 'sure' he was happy to hand him the penalty he eventually missed in Saturday's 2-1 win at home to Leeds United
Manchester City put themselves four points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to a first-half brace from Gundogan, the midfielder twice firing home from the edge of the box. But the Blues should have been beyond reach by half-time, were it not for a number of missed chances from the uncharacteristically wasteful Haaland.
RATINGS: Gundogan good but Haaland poor in Leeds win
The Norwegian eventually had his chance after Pascal Struijk brought down Phil Foden in the box, but despite Guardiola's insistence that the striker take it, he passed it to Gundogan whose effort struck the post. Rodrigo pulled one back for Leeds within a minute, capitalising on a mistake from Manuel Akanji to curl his effort past Ederson.
The goal encouraged Leeds and forced a slighlty more nervy finish than anticipated for City, with Guardiola evidently unhappy

Guardiola's Gundogan stance
Pep Guardiola wants to continue working with Ilkay Gundogan beyond this season, but accepts the German's future is out of his hands.
Gundogan scored twice against Leeds in City's 2-1 win but missed a penalty late on to set up a nervy finish as Rodrigo pulled a goal back just a minute after. However, although Guardiola was annoyed that Gundogan took the penalty over regular takers Erling Haaland or Riyad Mahrez, the manager reserved praise for his overall performance.
With the German out of contract in the summer and no decision made yet on whether he will stay beyond his current deal, Guardiola couldn't offer any new update. However, the manager did say he wants to continue working with the first player he signed for the Blues.
"I said about the contract, the club is involved and knows my opinion," he said. "They are above me, we take the decision together, good and bad."
