Ilford stabbing: Young man, 19, knifed to death in east London

A young man has been stabbed to death in east London.

Police were called to reports of a fight outside a residential building in Fullwell Avenue, Ilford, on Tuesday night.

Officers arrived to find the victim, 19, suffering knife wounds shortly after the attack at about 10.20pm.

They battled to save his life as they waited for paramedics to arrive, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has not yet been informed.

Officers are working to establish whether the incidents are linked.

No arrests have been made.

A Section 60 Order, which gives police greater stop-and-search powers, has been implemented for the borough of Redbridge until 6.30am.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police administered first aid prior to the arrival of LAS. However the victim died at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing to inform his next of kin.

“At this early stage there have been no arrests.”

He added that the victim was found near Own Waters House, near Claybury View.
