ILB Roquan Smith discusses being a part of rivalry between Ravens, Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens traveled to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in Week 14 of the 2022 season.  Baltimore came away with a 16-14 win to bring their record to 9-4 and stay on top of the AFC North division.

The team lost quarterback Tyler Huntley in the third quarter to a concussion, making it so rookie undrafted free agent Anthony Brown had to take over for the rest of the game. Inside Linebacker Roquan Smith had a fantastic day recording a sack, an interception, and six total tackles. With he and Patrick Queen together, they are showcasing how dominant a duo they can be.

Smith spoke to the media after the game, and was asked about what it was like to play in his first Steelers game as a member of the Ravens.

“Yes, absolutely man. It’s no other way I’d rather have it. [We] fought a lot of adversity throughout the game. But that’s what makes everyone special and how you respond once you face it. And we faced it. [There’s] no other way of winning that, and it was in Ravens fashion. So, I’m just happy to be here.”

With the Ravens starting a backup quarterback, they have needed to rely more on their running game and their defense to be able to shut teams down. So far both have stepped up tremendously, and will need to continue to do so if Baltimore wants to make noise in the playoffs.
