IKEA's bargain rechargeable ­batteries have been named product of the year by Which?

A four-pack of Ladda batteries, costing £7, beat 3,499 other items to the consumer champion’s top spot.

Just one of the batteries would beat 150 disposables, making them better value and kinder to the planet.

Second on the list was Aldi’s own brand laundry powder. e after beating more expensive rivals when it came to whites and stains. The most expensive item was an electric car, the BMW iX (2021-), at £74,873.

Experts were impressed by the SUV’s ability to travel more than 300 miles on a single charge.

In 18th, a £240 Ninja air fryer was branded a “Swiss army knife appliance, allowing users to pressure cook, air fry, grill, bake, steam and slow cook”.

LG 55UQ91006LA 55-INCH TV also made it into this years top 10 (DAILY MIRROR)

Harry Rose, Which? magazine editor, said: “In hard times it’s great to recognise some of the more modest products that do an incredible job, are affordable for most and can even save people money over time.”

Other top picks included an LG TV and a Beko microwave.

Last year a soup maker described as “show stopping” has been named product of the year by consumer group Which?.
