IKEA has been my go-to place to buy affordable homeware since I first moved out and was decorating my dorm room. Now, a decade later, it's still my first point of call for cheap, chic homeware, and while my tastes and budget may have changed, there are still plenty of IKEA pieces in my home.
Now an IKEA sale is a rare thing, they don't happen often. Yes, there's the bargain section in store that I always have a good trawl through, but online deals only show up a couple of times a year. So naturally I am keen to see what's on offer. I had a look through the up to 50% off deals and these are my favorite finds.
There are deals in lots of categories, but as someone who loves to host in spring and summer, it was outdoor furniture, decor, and kitchenware that I had my eye on. I have been wanting to give my patio an overhaul and there are loads of pieces in the IKEA spring sale to make that more affordable.
As you will notice from all my picks, I am a neutral lover. And in summer I am all for soft colors and natural materials. These chairs provide a great base for those schemes. Plus you can get armless versions too, which I would mix and match.
The matching table is everything I want in an outdoor table. I would probably throw a tablecloth over this for most occasions but I still love the tone of the wood and would happily keep it bare.
I like to have two zones in my backyard, one that is more formal for eating and one that's far more relaxed for drinks or when I have just one or two guests over. This rocking chair is ideal for that second, more laid-back space.
And because I adhere to the design rule that every seat must have a surface, I think this would work really well in my more casual zone. I love the bistro feel, plus it would work inside later in the year.
Garden furniture needs cushions, not just to make them softer to sit on, but also to soften the overall look too. I love the color scheme going on here, and this is as bold as I go really.
A vase/jug is always a win with me. You can fill up with water and have it on the table for guests, or use it to create a lovely centerpiece filled with seasonal flowers and foliage.
When I host in the summer it's all about sharing plates. I love filling the table with large platters of food, giving my guests a plate, and letting them help themselves. The color of this platter is lovely, and the shape is perfect for salads, dips, chips, and more.
An upgrade from the eclectic mix of pots I currently have going on, this planter will provide the perfect new home. It's ideal for smaller yards like mine that don't have a ton of space to plant things into the ground.
Nothing beats the soft glow of candlelight on a warm summer evening, just as the sun starts to set and there's that lovely soft light. I can never crowd enough lanterns in my yard, and these could double as table decor too.
