LUCKNOW: An official of IIM-Lucknow was on way to her office at around 9.50 am on Monday when she got an alert from AI based CCTV, hinting at presence of some persons in her house which she had locked before moving out..
However, before she could rush to her house the robbers took away Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, ornaments worth lakhs of rupees and a licenced revolver from her house in Madiaon area.
The IIM official, identified as Sangeeta Bala of Indrapuri Colony at IIM Road, had hired a company for servicing of ACs.She said that she got a call from a worker of the company who asked her about her availability at the house. “He told me that he would visit my house around noon. But I got the call when I was on way to my office. I told him that my nephew would be reaching home soon. Then I opened the camera linked with my mobile phone and found that lights of rooms were on. When I told the AC service man about it he said that lights were on but the house was closed,” she said.
Sangeeta said that she immediately rushed to her house. “I reached there in ten minutes. When I entered the house after opening the lock at the main gate I found that lights were on in the lobby. Robbers had rummaged my bedroom, drawing room and had broken an almirah. Later, I found that Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, ornaments of my mother and my licenced revolver were missing,” she said.
ADCP, north zone, Prachi Singh said that an FIR has been lodged .
