Jennifer Aniston's love of exercise is well-documented, and thanks to the woman she trains with every week you can try a full-body workout inspired by her fitness regime.
Dani Coleman, head trainer at Pvolve, has been putting the Hollywood actress through her paces since Aniston became an ambassador for the Pilates-inspired app in 2021. I got the chance to speak to Coleman recently and as you’d imagine, Coleman says it’s a lot of fun training with Aniston. "Jen's really down for the get down," says Coleman. "She truly lets me throw anything at her, everything is taken with a grain of salt, and she always keeps me laughing.
"Jen is very like, ‘45 minutes we hit it’ and she has me start my watch and she really goes for it.
“Jen really likes a challenging full-body workout, so we always start with strength training with a big focus on stability. We always have some mobility in there and then it’s time for a little cardio burst, which is a representation of our Pvolve Sculpt & Burn format—a short but intense cardio section that focuses on improving cardiovascular health.
“Then we add in progressive weight training, so some heavy weights to build lean muscle mass. We train for 45 minutes to an hour, and anywhere from three to four times a week, depending on Jen’s schedule and where she is in the world.”
How to work out like Jennifer Aniston
"This workout format [in the video below] was inspired by the way that Jen and I train in our sessions," says Coleman, so it’s a challenging mix of strength, stability, mobility and cardio.
For this workout you will need a set of light and heavier dumbbells and the Pvolve P-ball (if you don’t have one of these you can use a standard Pilates ball like this one from Amazon with a medium-heavy loop resistance band).
