A thug launched terrifying attacks on his girlfriend - pouring cola over her, strangling her and biting her ear. Cowardly Jamie Brock assaulted the woman having accusing her of cheating after a man 'touched her shoulder'.
During one sickening incident, the 30-year-old grabbed the woman as she tried to leave, before pulling her to the floor by her hair and raining punches down on her. He bit her ear and strangled her, hissing: "I'm going to bite your ear off, you b****".
He made threats to kill her. In desperation, the woman said: "If you're going to kill me, just do it quickly, I've had enough."
Prosecuting, Paul Hodgkinson told Manchester Crown Court the pair entered into a relationship - which became toxic - in January, 2021. Both lived ‘chaotic lifestyles’ and abused alcohol. Brock also used drugs.
Brock, from Harpurhey, previously attacked the woman and was released under investigation. He attacked her again last June.
He was made the subject of a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO), banning him from contacting her, reports the Manchester Evening News.
On June 6, they were drinking alcohol at his flat when he accused her of checking his mobile phone and grabbed her by the neck.
"She thinks she passed out as when she came round she could feel the defendant's hands around her neck, causing her to struggle to breathe," Mr Hodgkinson said.
"She believed she was going to die. He started punching her to the face, ripped her trousers and underwear, poured Coca-Cola over her, and called her degrading names such as 'dirty little f*****g tramp'."
The woman managed to escape and fled to a neighbour’s house for help. Brock was arrested. Quizzed by cops, he claimed he acted in self-defence.
On August 1, they were at his flat when he began accusing her of infidelity, the prosecutor added. "He was referring to an innocent incident when a male touched her on the shoulder," Mr Hodgkinson said.
The woman declined to have sex with him that evening. Brock continued accusing her of sleeping with men behind her back, so she got up to leave. As she did so he slammed the front door shut and told her: "You're not going nowhere."
There was a scuffle before he grabbed her arm, pulled her hair so she fell to the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face.
Mr Hodgkinson said: "He then bit her ear and stated I'm going to bite your ear off, you b****', then said 'I'm going to kill you, you b****'.
"The defendant strangled her to the point she told him 'if you're going to kill me, just do it quickly - I've had enough'."
The woman shouted to her neighbours for help. Brock eventually let her go before apologising. He was arrested days later when a passing police officer noticed the woman's injuries.
She was treated for swellings to her face; bruising to her neck; damage to her right eye; and multiple fractures to her cheek.
The woman said in a statement Brock has 'absolutely wrecked [her] life'.
Chloe Fordham, mitigating, said Brock had a 'harsh' upbringing and developed epilepsy; anxiety; and low mood. He was 'prone to outbursts of violence', she added.
"He is genuinely remorseful and has taken steps to address his addiction," Ms Fordham told the court.
Recorder Andrew Long told Brock: "You pulled her hair so it came out, you repeatedly punched her in the face and strangled her saying you intended to kill her - she thought she was going to die.
"This was a sustained and severe assault."
The judge said there was a 'high risk' of Brock causing serious harm to future partners and deemed him to be a dangerous offender under sentencing provisions.
Brock, of Church Lane, was jailed for six years with an extended licence period of two years. He was also made subject of a restraining order, banning him from contacting the woman indefinitely.
