If you loved BBC’s The Traitors then make sure you check this game show out on Netflix

The Traitors took the nation by storm after combining an Agatha Christie-style murder mystery with a huge cash prize - but are you desperately waiting for season two?

Hosted by the iconic Claudia Winkleman, the gripping BBC show follows 22 contestants as they head to a castle in the Scottish Highlands to battle it out for £120,000.

But, planted among them are three Traitors who ‘murder’ the remaining Faithfuls by night, and lie at the round table in an attempt to appear innocent and avoid being ‘banished’.

To get the cash prize, contestants needed to work out which members of the group were secretly working as Traitors.

After 12 episodes of challenges, banishments and 'murders', it all came down to the final five contestants - two of which were Traitors.

It was up to the three remaining Faithfuls to work out how many Traitors were left, and who they were - otherwise if there were any left at the end of the game, they would get the prize money.

Now the compelling game show has come to an end, fans are longing for another series to get hooked on - and they won’t have to look far.

For more lies, deception and psychological manipulation, viewers can add The Mole on Netflix to their list.

The show sees 12 players work together in a series of challenges, all with the goal of adding money to a prize pot which only one of them will eventually win.

But, there is one secret ‘Mole’ planted within the group who has been tasked with sabotaging the group’s challenges and their chances of winning the cash prize.

After each challenge, the group must answer 20 questions about who they think the imposter is, and the furthest from the truth is sent home.

The contestant who successfully guesses the identity of the Mole at the end of the season wins the accumulated prize.

One key difference between the gripping game shows is that the identity of the Mole is withheld from viewers.

The show originally aired for five seasons on ABC in 2002, before returning on Netflix with journalist Alex Wagner acting as the host.

Fans of the Netflix competition have taken to Twitter to discuss how the two shows compare.

One user wrote: “Watched The Mole US off the back of watching The Traitors UK and my god, it is soooooo much better! We missed some massive tricks and plots!”

Another penned: “The mole is better than the traitors but traitors is better produced.”

“Finished watching #TheTraitors today - was good, I enjoyed it and it reminded me a lot of The Mole on Netflix,” wrote another.

A different viewer said: “I’ve just started #TheMole on Netflix. Five eps in already. It’s filling The Traitors gap, but these contestants are BRUTAL, and we don’t know who the mole is.”

The 10-part game show is available to watch on Netflix.
