The Nike SB Dunk High Pro “New York Mets” sneakers just became the holy grail that I need to add to my collection as soon as I possibly can.
I’m a fan of the Mets, admittedly, so I’m biased. But unless you root for the Yankees or a rival in the NL East, it would be hard to describe these bad boys as anything but gorgeous.
The grey base of the shoe matches the uniform the Mets wear on the road. It is also absolutely beautiful to see the Nike Swoosh in New York’s signature blend of blue and orange. The same colorway is used on the tongue tab and sock liner.
Meanwhile, the back of the tongue tab features a nod to the 7-train that brings passengers from Queens or Manhattan to the stadium. It also includes the iconic Home Run Apple, which was originally installed at New York’s old Shea Stadium in 1980.

My favorite detail is the outsole, which includes a pink splash that resembles what would happen if a baseball player stepped in gum — which is obviously all too common around a dugout thanks to all that Big League Chew.
Although there are no details on when the shoe is expected to release, For The Win was told that these are not custom and are official samples. They are expected to get released to the public at some point in the future, although the date and price are both currently unknown.
