Shotts boss John McKeown says his side are in a good position as they head into the final straight in the West of Scotland Conference A title race.
But they also need leaders Arthurlie to slip up before they can take advantage.
John McKeown’s side sit second, a point behind Arthurlie, but having played two games more than their rivals.
Shotts are preparing to host Saltcoats Vics next Saturday, having had their derby clash against Bellshill rained off last weekend, and McKeown says they can only take it one game at a time.
He said: “We just need to hope that Arthurlie slip up and that we keep winning our own games.
“All we can do is take care of ourselves, but Arthurlie have been relentless.
“We’re sitting in a good position in the league and we’re doing well in the cups, so it has been good so far, but ‘one game at a time’ is the old cliché, isn’t it.”
McKeown added: “We beat Saltcoats 6-0 at their place earlier in the season, and we just need to go and keep picking up wins.
“We just need to be up for it, treat it professionally and go and try our best as usual.”
McKeown says Dean Sutherland is struggling after picking up an injury in the 7-0 win over Lesmahagow last week, but midfielder Jonny McStay is nearing a return after two years out with a cruciate ligament injury.
