I was rather surprised to see Rishi Sunak telling us how thankful he is that the king’s cancer has been “caught early” (Report, 6 February). Presumably he is rather less concerned about the rest of us, whose access to early cancer treatment via the NHS has been massively curtailed thanks to his government’s cuts and general incompetence.

• Marc Quinn’s sculpture Alison Lapper Pregnant in Trafalgar Square may have been dismissed as “patronising” and “ghastly” by some in 2005 (How we made, 5 February), but the large, pink inflatable version that was put in front of the San Giorgio Maggiore church for the Venice Biennale in 2013 was quite spectacular!
