Idiot driver parks in middle of busy road to nip into Tesco

An idiot driver who parked in the middle of a pedestrian crossing while he nipped into a nearby Tesco store has been caught on camera. Baffled residents spotted the grey Audi after it stopped on the main road through Manchester city centre on Sunday, May 28.

A short video clip shows the stationary motor as it covered the crossing and a bike lane in the Deansgate area. Just seconds later, a man is seen strolling towards the motor with a drink in his hand.

As he enters the car, the man gestures to a blue car which is a few feet away, the Manchester Evening News reports. The blue car then appears to make a u-turn on the one-way road, driving the wrong way before the pair make off in the same direction.

The video was taken by a local resident who says there has been some confusion on that part of Deansgate following the installation of a bus gate.

Speaking to the MEN, the resident who preferred to remain anonymous, said: "We’ve seen this quite regularly since the new bus gate has been put in. A lot of people go to drive down Deansgate, clock the sign and then turn around or reverse back out.

The Audi was spotted abandoned in the middle of the road (MEN)

"So we thought that's what he was doing at first and then kind of noticed he's not actually moving.

"And then two lads got out of the car and went into Tesco, and that's when I started taking the video. There was another car that had driven up Deansgate and halfway through the video clip you see him coming back the other way. It's just one way now.

"We see a lot of people either not see or ignore the bus gate sign, but you see a lot of people who get to them and then spot them. This video is quite an extreme case because you can see he's blocking pedestrians and cyclists."
