The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have expanded their ground incursion in southern Lebanon by issuing evacuation orders for an additional 25 villages. This move brings the total number of villages issued evacuation notices to 76 since Tuesday.
On Thursday, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee revealed the names of the 25 new villages, which are located deeper into Lebanon, reaching up to 45 kilometers (28 miles) inside the country. Lebanese citizens residing in these areas have been urged to evacuate their homes immediately and relocate to the north of the Awali River for their safety.
The IDF emphasized the importance of saving lives and ensuring the well-being of the Lebanese population in the face of the ongoing conflict. The evacuation orders come as part of the IDF's efforts to conduct a limited, localized, and targeted ground war in Lebanon.
In response to the escalating situation, the IDF announced on Wednesday that an additional division would be deployed to participate in the ground operations in Lebanon. This decision underscores the seriousness of the military campaign and the IDF's commitment to achieving its objectives while minimizing civilian casualties.
The evolving situation in southern Lebanon highlights the complex dynamics at play in the region and the challenges faced by both military forces and civilian populations. As tensions continue to rise, the IDF's actions underscore the need for swift and decisive measures to ensure the safety and security of all individuals involved.
