The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported the successful elimination of two Hezbollah commanders responsible for recent attacks in Northern Israel. The IDF announced that Farouk Amin Alasi, the Hezbollah commander of the Khiam area, was struck and killed by the Israel Air Force (IAF). Alasi was known for orchestrating anti-tank missile and rocket attacks on Israeli communities in the Galilee Panhandle, particularly targeting Metula.
In addition to Alasi, the IDF also eliminated Yousef Ahmad Nun, a Radwan Forces company commander in the Khiam area. Nun was held accountable for launching rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on Israeli communities in the Galilee region and IDF troops operating in the area.
This operation comes on the heels of the IDF's claim of killing two other Hezbollah commanders responsible for over 400 strikes against Israel in October. IDF troops are actively engaged in operational activities in southern Lebanon, targeting Radwan Forces and other Hezbollah terrorists through aerial strikes and close-quarters combat. Large caches of Hezbollah weaponry have also been discovered by the IDF.
Recent operations led by IDF Intelligence resulted in the elimination of Raafat Ibrahim Mahmoud Akdeih, a Nukhba terrorist involved in the brutal terrorist attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz in October. Akdeih previously served as an aide to the commander of Islamic Jihad Nukhba forces in the Khan Yunis Brigade.
Meanwhile, IDF forces have continued their operations in the Jabaliya area of the northern Gaza Strip, where numerous terrorists have been neutralized. The 'Kfir' Brigade has initiated operations in the region, successfully eliminating a terrorist cell posing a threat to IDF troops.
Further IDF activities in central and southern Gaza have focused on locating weapons and dismantling terrorist cells. Limited, targeted raids against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon are ongoing, with IDF troops working to disrupt Hezbollah's infrastructure, seize weapons, and eliminate terrorists in collaboration with the IAF.
Recent clashes between Israel and Hezbollah were sparked by a deadly attack on Thursday in northern Israel, where Hezbollah forces targeted Metula, resulting in the deaths of an Israeli farmer and four foreign agricultural workers. Subsequent attacks near Haifa claimed the lives of two individuals, further escalating tensions in the region.
