IDF Claims Killing 90 'Terrorists' In Gaza Hospital Operation

Israel Defense Forces handout at Al Shifa hospital in Gaza City

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported that they have killed 90 individuals they have labeled as 'terrorists' during an ongoing operation at the Al-Shifa medical complex in northern Gaza, which has now entered its third day.

In an official statement released early Wednesday, the IDF stated that their forces, in conjunction with the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), have successfully neutralized terrorists and discovered weapons within the hospital area. They emphasized that their actions were aimed at safeguarding civilians, patients, medical teams, and medical equipment.

Contradicting this account, a witness taking shelter at Al-Shifa on Monday claimed that individuals on the hospital premises were targeted by gunfire, resulting in casualties. The witness reported that some were killed, others injured, and the deceased and wounded were subsequently removed by Israeli forces.

The IDF disclosed that in addition to the 90 'terrorists' killed, over 300 suspects were interrogated at the compound, with a further 160 suspects transferred to Israeli territory for continued questioning.

Dr. Marwan Abu Saada, the head of surgery at Al-Shifa, provided testimony indicating that male medical staff were allegedly stripped and left outdoors in the cold by Israeli forces. According to Abu Saada, colleagues who managed to leave the hospital during the initial stages of the operation recounted instances of arrests, individuals being displaced to the south partially clothed, and others being instructed to return to the hospital.

Source has reached out to the IDF for additional information regarding the individuals reportedly killed or detained during the operation at Al-Shifa and its surroundings.
